Abstract To meet the desperate need of high-quality pathological technicians in basic-level medical units, pathology laboratory technology has been opened in Zhaoqing Medical College for the students majoring in medical laboratory technology. In the course, various new teahing means and methods such as optimized the teaching contents, integrated on-and-off-campus resourses, module teaching, integration of theory and practice teaching, network teaching and opening laboratory, have greatly aroused the students′ interest in learning and effectively developed their practical ability, exploring ability, autonomous learning ability and communicative and cooperative ability. A systematic study of the course has enabled the students to master the basic knowledge and skills of pathology technology, and to strengthen their employ ability .
