Nutritional risk screening and effect evaluation of enteral nutrition and parenteral nutrition in postoperative patients with gastric cancer |

Abstract Objective To screen nutritional risk and evaluate the effect of enteral nutrition and parenteral nutrition in postoperative patients with gastric cancer. Methods From December 2015 to December 2016, in Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, 100 patients with gastric cancer were divided into intervention group and control group, with 50 in each group. NRS2002 was used for screening nutritional risk. The control group was given total parenteral nutrition, the intervention group was given enteral nutrition and parenteral nutrition. Results Patients with gastric cancer had nutritional risk, NRS2002≥3 scores. After intervention, serum total protein, serum albumin, hemoglobin, immunoglobulin and BMI in the intervention group were better than the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The incidence of complications in the intervention group (6 cases) was significantly lower than the control group (15 cases), the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The time of anal exhaust and hospitalization time in the intervention group were shorter than those of control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The KPS of the intervention group was higher than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Patients with gastric cancer had nutritional risk after operation. Enteral and parenteral nutrition can improve the nutritional status, reduce postoperative complications, and shorten the length of hospital stay, and improve the functional status of patients with gastric cancer.
