| Effect of Yangyin Shugan Capsules and Clomiphene Citrate in the treatment of polycystic ovarian syndrome with infertility |

Abstract Objective To explore the clinical effect of Yangyin Shugan Capsules combined with Clomiphene Citrate in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS) associated with infertility. Methods A total of 83 PCOS associated with infertility admitted in Zhongshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February 2016 to February 2018 were selected as the research subjects. Patients were divided into control group (n = 41) and experimental group (n = 42) according to the random number table method. The control group was treated with Clomiphene Citrate and the experimental group was treated with Yangyin Shugan Capsules combined with Clomiphene Citrate. The clinical efficacy, ovulation and pregnancy outcome and the incidence of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) after treatment were compared between the two groups. The levels of serum hormone [estradiol (E2), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) ] were compared between the two groups before and after treatment, and the adverse reaction of the two groups was recorded during treatment. Results The total effective rate of the experimental group (76.19%) was significantly higher than that of the control group (46.34%) (P < 0.05). After treatment, levels of E2 and FSH in the two groups were significantly higher than before treatment, and the experimental group was significantly higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05); the level of LH of the two groups decreased significantly, and the experimental group was lower than that of the control group (P < 0.05). The ovulation rate and pregnancy rate of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in OHSS between the two groups (P > 0.05), and there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion Yangyin Shugan Capsules combined with Clomiphene Citrate is effective in the treatment of PCOS associated with infertility. It can improve the level of serum hormone, increase ovulation rate and pregnancy rate, and do not increase adverse reaction. It has a certain clinical value.
