Application value of high frequency ultrasound in the diagnosis of congenital hip dislocation and developmental dysplasia of the hip in infants |

Abstract Objective To analyze the value of high-frequency ultrasound in the diagnosis of congenital dislocation of hip and dysplasia of hip in infants. Methods From January 2017 to June 2018, 1500 infants aged 6 months who underwent hip screening ultrasound examination in Jiangyou People′s Hospital of Sichuan Province were selected as the research objects. All infants were examined by Graf′s hip ultrasonography. Based on the results of high frequency ultrasound, the shapes of infants′ hip joint were accurately evaluated to determine whether infants had congenital dislocation of hip joint and dysplasia of hip joint. The age distribution of children with developmental dysplasia of the hip was analyzed. Results Among 1500 infants aged 6 months, 15 infants had abnormal hip development, the incidence was 1.00%, and the diagnostic accuracy of high frequency ultrasound was 100%. The incidence of hip dysplasia in females was higher than that in males in 15 cases of hip dysplasia, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Among 27 cases of hip dysplasia, the left side was more than the right side, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Among 15 infants with dysplasia of hip joint, the incidence of infants aged >5 to 6 months was the highest, followed by infants aged >4 to 5 months and >2 to 3 months. Conclusion High frequency ultrasound is of great value in the diagnosis of congenital dislocation of hip and dysplasia of hip in infants.
