Study on the antimicrobial activity in vitro of Feiyang Changweiyan Capsules |

Abstract Objective To investigate the antimicrobial activity in vitro of Feiyang Changweiyan Capsules. Methods The tube double dilution method and agar plate method were used to determine the minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentrations (MBC) of Feiyang Changweiyan Capsules against Escherichia coil, Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, β-hemolytic streptococcus and Candida albicans, taking Ceftriaxone as positive control drug. Results The antibacterial activity of Feiyang Changweiyan Capsules against Escherichia coil (MIC was 6.25 mg/mL), Staphylococcus aureus (MIC was 1.56 mg/mL), Enterococcus faecalis (MIC was 25.00 mg/mL), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (MIC was 6.25 mg/mL) and β-hemolytic streptococcus (MIC was 12.50 mg/mL) was stronger, which of Candida albicans (MIC was 100.00 mg/mL) was weaker. Conclusion Feiyang Changweiyan Capsules have stronger antimicrobial activity in vitro for Escherichia coil, Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and β-hemolytic streptococcus.
