Abstract Primary hepatocellular carcinoma ("liver cancer" for short) has a high incidence and mortality in China, and is one of the clinical refractory diseases. Although the treatment methods of Western medicine for liver cancer are various, it has not achieved satisfactory results based on the pathological characteristics of liver cancer. In the aspect of traditional Chinese medicine treatment, there are many deficiencies in the treatment of liver cancer with single syndrome differentiation, but in the long-term clinical practice, it has established the clinical thinking mode of disease differentiation - pathogenesis differentiation - syndrome differentiation to explore the traditional Chinese medicine treatment of liver cancer, established the basic pathogenesis and treatment principles of liver cancer, and cited one clinical case to provide more clinical diagnosis and treatment ideas for the treatment of liver cancer, and for the general liver cancer brings good news.
