Determination of kanamycin sulfate in hospital preparation Compound Diphenhydramine Nasal Drops |

Abstract Objective To establish a method for the determination of kanamycin sulfate in Compound Diphenhydramine Nasal Drops by ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry so as to better control the quality of the drug and ensure its safety of medication. Methods The content of kanamycin sulfate was determined by ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry at 568 nm. Results The linear relationship between the concentration of kanamycin sulfate and UV absorbance in the range of 0.1-0.5 mg/mL was good (r = 0.9999), the average recovery was 100.35%, and the RSD was 0.66% (n = 9). Conclusion The method is simple, accurate and reproducible. It can be used for the determination of kanamycin sulfate in hospital preparation Compound Diphenhydramine Nasal Drops.
