Effect of endoscopic low temperature plasma radiofrequency ablation in the treatment of snoring with allergic rhinitis in children |

Abstract Objective To study the effect of low temperature plasma radiofrequency ablation (ELTPRA) under nasal endoscope in the treatment of snoring with allergic rhinitis (AR) in children. Methods A total of 115 children with snoring and AR who were treated in Hu′nan Children′s Hospital from June 2017 to June 2018 were enrolled. The children were divided into observation group (n = 58) and control group (n = 57) according to the random number table method. The control group was treated with tonsillectomy combined with adenoidectomy, while the observation group was treated with ELTPRA. After 3 months follow-up, the curative effect, clinical indicators, inflammatory factors and complications before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 98.28%, which was significantly higher than that of the control group (89.47%), and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The operation time, intraoperative bleeding volume and hospitalization time of the observation group were significantly less than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.01). After treatment, the levels of interleukin-4 (IL-4), IL-8 and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) were significantly decreased in both groups (P < 0.05), and the levels of IL-4, IL-8, TNF-α in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.01). The incidence of pain and complications in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion ELTPRA is effective in the treatment of children with snoring and AR, and has fewer complications. It can also effectively promote postoperative recovery and reduce the level of inflammatory factors in children, which is effective and worthy of promotion.
