Analysis of risk factors and prevention of secondary fracture of distal radius fracture in elderly women |

Abstract Objective To analyze the risk factors of secondary fracture of distal radius fractures in elderly women and to make recommendations. Methods Clinical data of 160 elderly patients with distal radius fractures received by the First Department of Traumatology, the Third Hospital of Shijiazhuang City from April 2015 to April 2017 were respectively analyzed. According to the occurrence of re-fracture, they were divided into occurrence group (45 cases) and non-generation group (115 cases). The risk factors for the secondary fracture of distal radius fractures in elderly women were determined by single factor and multivariate Logistic linear regression analysis. Results There were no differences in the rates of hypertension, coronary heart disease, diabetes, type of fracture, combined distal radioulnar joint dislocation, ulna styloid process fracture, treatment, external fixation time, residual articular surface unevenness, serum phosphorus (P), calcium (Ca), calcitonin (CT ) and type Ⅰ collagen amino terminal propeptide (PINP) levels of the patients between the two groups (P > 0.05). The rates of age > 80, bone cement leakage, osteoporosis, no anti-osteoporosis treatment, 25-OH-D < 8.0 ng/mL of the occurrence group were significantly higher than those of the non-occurrence group (P < 0.05), which were the independent risk factors for secondary fracture of distal radius fractures (P < 0.05). Conclusion There are many risk factors for secondary fracture of distal radius fractures in elderly women, clinical needs to attach great importance to and strengthen preventive measures.
