Effect of lumbar spine massage combined with Sodium Hyaluronate in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis |

Abstract Objective To analyze the clinical efficacy of lumbar spine massage combined with Sodium Hyaluronate in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis (KOA) and its influence on serum S100A12 and cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) levels. Methods One hundred cases of KOA patients admitted to the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University from January 2016 to January 2018 were divided into the observation group and the control group by random envelope method, with 50 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Sodium Hyaluronate, while the observation group was treated with lumbar spine massage combined with Sodium Hyaluronate. After treatment, the visual analogue scale (VAS), clinical efficacy, S100A12 and COMP levels of the two groups were observed, and the satisfaction rates of the two groups were analyzed. Results After treatment, the total effective rate of observation group was significantly higher than that of control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, the VAS scores of the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment (P < 0.05), and the VAS score of the observation group was significantly lower than that of control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, the levels of S100A12 and COMP in the blood of the two groups were decreased significantly (P < 0.05), which of observation group were significantly lower than those of control group (P < 0.05). The satisfaction rate of observation group was significantly higher than that of control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion The combination of lumbar spine massage and Sodium Hyaluronate in the treatment of KOA patients can improve the clinical efficacy and clinical satisfaction rate, reduce the patients′ VAS scores, S100A12 and COMP levels.
