Abstract Medical mall is a mode of "commercial + medical", which has appeared abroad for many years, and has already developed into a mature mode. In contrast, domestic medical mall has appeared for a short time, and stays at the exploratory stage currently. There exists some problems of domestic medical mall. For example, it is not included in the coverage of basic health insurance, and lacks the experience of property development and operation management. Besides, it is difficult to decide the main responsible body of medical treatment and manage hospital infection. However, medical mall meets the demand of modern people′s health and lifestyle, and has a bright prospect. In the future, medical mall will present the development trends of promoting the pattern of "privately build and publicly operate", broadening the scope of medical services, realizing the share of medical resources. Therefore, it will help to meet the diversified demands of medical treatment, improve patients′ medical experience, and effectively alleviate the difficulty of getting medical services.
