Application of teaching case method in training of pain specialized nurses |

Abstract The purpose of training of pain specialized nurse is cultivating applied nurse with strong capacity on analyzing and solving problems in clinic, containing pain assessment, pain management and pain management, etc. Different from diploma education, the training of pain specialized nurses pays more attention to the practical transformation of theoretical content in classroom, and requires more emphasis on integration of theory and practice in teaching. In order to achieve the integration of multidisciplinary pain related knowledge and clinical practice during the limited training time, representative clinical cases in our hospital were introduced into classroom for guiding the students to analyze and solve clinical problems via teaching case method. Through the case teaching course, the students′ ability on mastering and application of theoretical contents were greatly improved, which indicated that teaching case method is a good way for training of pain specialized nurses
