Abstract Health-related physical fitness refers to the quality of health promotion and disease prevention. It is the intact state of people′s physical, psychological, social and other aspects in response to life, work and various unexpected situations. This paper uses literature analysis method to summarize and analyze the definition and research status of health-related physical fitness at home and abroad. This paper introduces the definition of health-related physical fitness at home and abroad, and discusses the current situation of health fitness at home and abroad. On the basis of this theory, the health and physical fitness status of the elderly population in China and its main influencing factors are discussed in order to provide theoretical guidance for the elderly population to carry out targeted health promotion activities.
