Transvaginal ultrasonography parameters and anti Mullerian hormone levels in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome and its clinical significance |

Abstract Objective To investigate the parameters of transvaginal ultrasonography (TVS) and the level of anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and its clinical significance. Methods From January 2015 to May 2018, in Hu′nan Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital, 67 patients with PCOS were selected as observation group and 70 healthy volunteers as control group, all patients were examined by TVS and the number of follicles (FN), ovarian volume (OV), ovarian interstitial area (SA), ovarian interstitial area/total area (SA/TA) and peak velocity of interstitial artery (Vmax), pulsatile index (PI) and resistance index (RI) were compared between two groups, and the serum level of AMH was measured. Results The FN, OV, SA, SA/TA and Vmax of mesenchyme artery in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P < 0.01); the PI and RI of mesenchyme artery were significantly lower than those in the control group (P < 0.01). The serum AMH of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05). SA/TA and RI were positively correlated with AMH (r = 0.723, 0.693, all P < 0.05); the sensitivity of TVS combined with AMH for diagnosing PCOS was 94.03%, which were significantly higher than that of TVS (73.13%) and AMH (80.60%) (P < 0.01). Conclusion TVS parameters and AMH levels are significantly abnormal in PCOS patients, and the TVS parameters SA / TA and RI are related to serum AMH.
