Influences of continuous care health education on the cognitive level and satisfaction in patients underwent breast surgery |

Abstract Objective To investigate the effect of continuous care health education on the cognitive level and satisfaction in patients underwent breast surgery. Methods A total of 840 patients underwent breast surgery from January 2016 to February 2017 in the Department of Breast, Tangshan People′s Hospital were divided into the control group and the observation group by random digital table, with 420 cases in each group. The control group was given conventional nursing and the observation group was given continuous care health education on the basis of control group. The scores of disease knowledge acquisition and nuring skills, compliance, the score of nursing satisfaction and the incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results The scores of disease knowledge acquisition and nursing skills in observation group were higher than those of control group, with statistically significant differences(P < 0.05); the nursing satisfaction in the observation group (92.9%) was higher than that of control group (80.0%), with statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). The compliance in the observation group was higher than that of control group, the hospitalization time was shorter than that of control group and the incidence of complications was lower than that of control group, with statistically significant differences (all P < 0.05). Conclusion Continuous care health education can improve the cognitive level and compliance of patients underwent breast surgery, promote nursing satisfaction of patients. It is worth popularizing clinically.
