Application value of six Sigma theory in the management of blood culture samples |

Abstract The quality of blood culture samples is directly related to the accuracy of test results. Improving the quality of blood culture samples is crucial for accurate anti-infection treatment and reducing the generation of drug-resistant bacteria. At present, the quality of blood culture specimens is not high, so it is urgent to adopt effective management methods to improve the quality of blood culture specimens. Taking the specific data and specific measures of Yongchuan Hospital of Chongqing Medical University as examples, this paper expounds the methods and significance of applying six Sigma theory in the management of blood culture specimen delivery. Through the five implementation steps of six Sigma theory, namely definition, measurement, analysis, improvement, and control, problems are found, analyzed, and solved, so as to standardize the collection and delivery of clinical blood culture specimens. The quality of blood culture samples can be improved by effective quality control of the key links of blood culture samples.
