Abstract Abnormal expression levels of cell division cycle related gene 8 (CDCA8) can affect multiple signaling pathways, particularly in promoting proliferation during the occurrence and development of various cancers. The relevant mechanisms mainly include influencing the cell division cycle, acting as common regulatory factors for PI3K, p53, and other signaling pathways to accelerate cancer occurrence and development, and affecting chemokine cell pathways. Meanwhile, there is a correlation between the expression level of CDCA8 and tumor prognosis. This article reviews the relationship and mechanism of action between CDCA8 and the occurrence and development of bladder cancer, female reproductive system tumors, prostate cancer, and other diseases, as well as the relationship between CDCA8 and poor prognosis, pathological staging, etc., and provides new ideas for the treatment and prognosis prediction of various tumors.
