Abstract  Objective To explore the establishment and application of standardized procedure of bedside power cycling in patients with mechanical ventilation in intensive care unit (ICU). Methods A total of 122 patients admitted to the Department of ICU of the Sixth People’s Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University were selected as research objects from September 2020 to May 2021, and they were divided into control group and experimental group by random number table method, with 61 cases in each group. The control group received ICU routine treatment, and patients in the experimental group were subjected to bedside power cycling exercise with standardized procedures. After treatment, Medical Research Council (MRC) muscle strength score, activities of daily living Barthel index (BI) mechanical ventilation duration, and satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results Upon Leaving the ICU, MRC muscle strength score and BI index of two groups were higher than those of before treatment, and those of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). The length of mechanical ventilation in both groups were longer than those of before treatment, the experimental group was shorter than that of the control group (P<0.05). The satisfaction of the two groups was better than that before treatment, and that of the experimental group was better than that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The establishment of the standardized process of exercise of bedside power bicycle can significantly improve the relevant evaluation indicators of patients, promote the rehabilitation of patients and improve the satisfaction of patients, which is worthy of clinical application.
