Application of respiratory case discussion based on picture archiving and communication system in the practice of master students |

Abstract Objective To explore the application of respiratory case discussion based on picture archiving and communication system (PACS) in the practice of master students. Methods From January 2021 to June 2022, a total of 105 graduate students with professional degrees in the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected, and 15 items were set up in the questionnaire. The observation indicators were the familiarity of the trainee students with PACS, the enthusiasm of participating in the discussion of respiratory cases based on PACS, and the recognition of learning effect. Each project had four options reflecting different levels of familiarity or recognition. Results A total of 105 questionnaires were sent out in this survey, and 105 were effectively collected, with an effective recovery rate of 100%. The degree of cognition of the application of PACS in the diagnosis of respiratory diseases was poor, and the proportion of people who were very familiar with PACS was 26.67% to 42.86%. The participation in the discussion of respiratory cases based on PACS was higher, and the recognition of the application effect of PACS in the review of radiography and the discussion of respiratory cases was higher, with the proportion of students who were highly approved + approved ranging from 80.98% to 91.43%. Conclusion Case discussion based on PACS is a good teaching method that can increase students’awareness of discussing diseases. In order to make more effective and reasonable use of this teaching method, it is necessary to take the teachers and clinical graduate students to participate in and make efforts.
