Clinical effect of ginger umbilical moxibustion combined with Kegel training in the treatment of perimenopausal women with stress urinary incontinence

Abstract  Objective To observe the clinical effect of ginger umbilical moxibustion combined with Kegel training in the treatment of perimenopausal women with stress urinary incontinence (SUI). Methods A total of 64 perimenopausal women with SUI treated in Liyuan Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology from August 2018 to February 2020 were selected. They were divided into control group and treatment group according to random number table method, with 32 patients in each group. The control group was treated with Kegel training, and the experimental group was treated with ginger umbilical moxibustion on the basis of control group, treatment lasted 12 weeks. The clinical efficacy of two groups was compared; urine leakage, International Consultation on Incontinence questionnaire short form (ICI-Q-SF) score, and pelvic floor muscle strength before and after treatment were compared between two groups. Results The clinical effect of treatment group was better than that of the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, urine leakage in both groups was lower than those before treatment, and treatment group was lower than control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the ICI-Q-SF score of two groups was lower than that before treatment, and treatment group was lower than control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the pelvic floor muscle strength of two groups were better than those before treatment, and treatment group was better than control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The clinical effect of ginger umbilical moxibustion combined with Kegel training in the treatment perimenopausal women with SUI is better, and it is worthy of clinical promotion and use.
