Meta analysis of perioperative incidence of deep vein thrombosis in elderly patients with hip fracture |

Abstract Objective To analyze the incidence of perioperative deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in elderly patients with hip fractures. Methods The CNKI, Wanfang Database, VIP, PubMed, Web of Science, the Cochrane Library and EMbase databases were searched, the search was conducted from January 2000 to November 2022. Results A total of 13 literatures were included, all of which were of medium and high quality and had no significant publication bias. The results were reliable. A total of 6 590 patients were included in the literature, and the incidence of DVT was 20% (95%CI:0.15 - 0.25). Subgroup analysis showed that the incidence of DVT was 16% (95%CI:0.10-0.21) in males and 18% (95%CI:0.13-0.23) in females. The incidence of DVT was 13% (95%CI:0.04-0.21) from 2005 to 2013, and 23% (95%CI:0.16-0.29) from 2014 to 2019. The incidence of DVT was 13% (95%CI:0.04-0.21) in 60-69 years, 14%(95%CI:0.07-0.21) in 70-79 years, and 14%(95%CI:0.07-0.21) in 80-89 years, the incidence of DVT in patients ≥90 years old was 22%(95%CI:0.09-0.36). Conclusion The incidence of DVT in elderly patients with hip fracture is high, and the results of meta-analysis are affected by advanced age, study type, study sample size, and case follow-up time. Therefore, medical staff should strengthen early prevention and treatment care to improve the quality of life of patients.
