Discussion on the medicine rules of Chinese medical masters in treating vertigo based on data mining

Abstract  Objective To explore the medication rules of Chinese medical masters in treating vertigo based on data mining. Methods Through the ancient and modern medical case cloud platform (v2.3.5), the qualified clinical case test prescriptions of Chinese medical masters for treating vertigo in the vertigo chapter of the Chinese Medical Master Test Case Prescription · Heart Brain Volume were screened, a database was established, and the standardized database was analyzed by means of frequency statistics, drug attribute analysis, association analysis, cluster analysis, and so on. Results A total of 53 medical records were collected, involving 70 prescriptions, and 179 Chinese materia medica were recorded. The most common sym- ptoms were dizziness, poor sleep, and weakness; the most common traditional Chinese medicine syndrome elements-nature of disease were phlegm, yang deficiency, disharmony, and yang hyperactivity; the most common pulse manifestations were stringy, thready, and slippery pulse; the most common tongue quality was red; the most common furs were thin white fur and white fur. High frequency drugs included Poria, Glycyrrhizae Radix Et Rhizoma, Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, Pinelliae Rhizoma, and Gastrodiae Rhizoma. The drug natures were plain, warm, the drug flavours were sweet, bitter, the drugs main returned to the liver, spleen channels, the drug effect was mainly to strengthen the spleen, diuresis, and diffuse dampness. The couplet medicines were Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma-Poria, Pinelliae Rhizoma-Poria, Uncariae Ramulus Cum Uncis-Gastrodiae Rhizoma. Through cluster an- alysis, 20 kinds of drugs with high frequency could be grouped into five categories. A new prescription with Poria as the core was obtained through drug complex network analysis. Conclusion The treatment of vertigo by Chinese medical masters mainly focuses on strengthening the spleen, diuresis and diffuse dampness, supplemented by eliminating phlegm and calming endogenous wind, and coordinating yin and yang.
