Abstract Medical imaging is a discipline with strong practicality, the progress of science and technology has led to rapid changes in medical imaging, technical innovation and practical innovation are the driving force to promote the development of the disciplines. Taking the Teaching and Research Section of Imaging Medicine and Nuclear Medicine of the First Clinical Medical College of Inner Mongolia Medical University as an example, this article has formulated a corresponding teaching system and evaluation system for the cultivation of innovative talents in imaging medicine, provided effective methods for improving the practical and innovation ability of medical imaging undergraduate students. This article summarizes and discusses the thinking and practice of the teaching and research department in cultivating applied and innovative talents in imaging medicine in recent years.
