Abstract  Objective To explore the effect of ear-point pressing beans combined with humanistic care intervention on the efficacy and psychological status of patients with lower extremity arteriosclerosis obliterans (LEASO). Methods A total of 110 LEASO patients diagnosed and treated in the vascular department of Shijiazhuang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February 2021 to February 2022 were selected and they were divided into study group and control group according to random number table method, with 55 patients in each group. The control group was treated with routine therapy, while the study group was treated with ear-point pressing beans combined with humanistic care intervention for two weeks. The clinical efficiency, complication rate, visual analogue scale (VAS), psychological status, quality of life, treatment compliance and satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results Finally, 51 cases in the study group and 47 cases in the control group completed this study. The clinical efficacy of the study group was better than that of the control group, the incidence of complications in the study group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Before treatment, there were no significant differences in VAS, self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), self-rating depression scale (SDS), pain-free maximum walking distance (PFWD), short form 36 (SF-36), and physical and mental health scores between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, VAS, SAS and SDS scores of the two groups were lower than before treatment, while PFWD, physical and mental health scores were higher than before treatment. VAS, SAS and SDS scores of the study group were lower than those of the control group, and PFWD, physical and mental health scores were higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Ear-point pressing beans combined with humanistic care intervention can effectively alleviate the clinical symptoms of LEASO patients, reduce the risk of complications, amend negative emotions and improve the quality of life, and the patient compliance and satisfaction is high, worthy of promotion and application.
