Abstract Objective To explore the study on nursing intervention of elderly burn patients based on Roy’s adaptation model. Methods A total of 84 elderly burn patients with burn plastic surgery and wound repair in the Department of Burn Plastic Surgery and Wound Repair, Affiliated Hospital of Youjiang Medical College for Nationalities from January 2020 to December 2021 were selected. They were divided into group A and group B by random number table method, with 42 cases in each group. Group A received routine care, and group B received care based on Roy’s adaptation model on the basis of group A. Serum inflammatory factor levels, emotional state, pain degree, sleep quality, and complications were compared between the two groups. Results After nursing, the levels of procalcitonin and C-reactive protein in two groups were lower than before nursing, and those of the group B were lower than group A (P＜0.05); the scores of self-rating anxiety scale and self-rating depression scale in two groups were lower than before nursing, and those of the group B was lower than group A (P＜0.05). The scores of visual simulation of pain and Pittsburgh sleep quality index in two groups were lower than before nursing, and group B was lower than group A (P＜0.05); the score of simple quality of life scale in two groups was higher than that before nursing, and group B was higher than group A (P＜0.05); the total incidence rate of adverse effect of group B was lower than that of group A (P＜0.05). Conclusion The nursing intervention based on Roy’ adaptation model is applied to the elderly burn patients, and the effect is ideal.
