Abstract With the promotion of healthy China strategy and the need of medical education innovation, it is an important task for medical colleges to cultivate medical talents with excellent medical skills and noble medical ethics. Taking Durkheim’s moral education theory as an analytical perspective, this paper objectively examines a series of problems existing in the current moral education of medical students, and explores ways to improve the quality of medical students’ moral education based on the combination of Durkheim’s moral education concept and social environment in the new era. It mainly includes internalizing moral ideas, establishing effective moral punishment, and carrying out socialized moral education, so as to provide ideas for theoretical research and policy formulation of moral education for medical students.
