Effect of ultrasound guided femoral nerve catheter on the of analgesia and delirium in elderly patients after unilateral total knee arthroplasty |

Abstract Objective To observe the effect of ultrasound guided femoral nerve catheter on the of analgesia and delirium in elderly patients after unilateral total knee arthroplasty. Methods From January 2015 to July 2017, 300 elderly patients with single knee replacement in the No.4 People′s Hospital of Hengshui City were divided into observation group, group A and group B according to random number table method, with 100 cases in each group. Patients in the observation group were treated with ultrasonic guided catheterization under the guidance of ultrasound, patients in group A were given blind detective femoral catheterization after the operation, and the patients in group B were given sustained intravenous analgesia. The postoperative analgesia, sedative, delirium and adverse reactions of each group were recorded. Results Compared with the group A and B, the VAS score of the observation group was significantly lower (P < 0.05), the degree of sedation was not significantly different (P > 0.05), the incidence of delirium was significantly decreased (P < 0.05), the incidence of adverse reactions, such as nausea, vomitin after operation decreased (P < 0.05). Conclusion Compared with the traditional blind detective catheterization and continuous intravenous analgesia, ultrasound guided femoral nerve catheterization improves the postoperative analgesic effect and reduces the incidence of postoperative delirium and adverse reactions, such as nausea, vomiting.
