Abstract This paper summarizes the experience of Professor Zhou Ling, a famous old Chinese doctor, in treating senility neurological tinnitus from the perspective of spleen and kidney with acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine combined. Through the analysis of Professor Zhou’s understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of senility neurological tinnitus, the composition, prescription meaning, and function of the empirical formula “tinnitus No.1” are analyzed, combined with acupuncture treatment point selection and techniques, and the attached clinical case is verified. Professor Zhou believes that senility neurological tinnitus should be treated from the perspective of spleen and kidney because of its deficiency and blood stasis. The treatment is invigorating spleen for benefiting kidney, promoting blood circulation for removing obstruction in collaterals, while acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine combined are applied together, giving consideration to both manifestation and root cause. The internal administration of decoction invigorating spleen for benefiting kidney, the external application of acupuncture and moxibustion for removing obstruction in collaterals, conditioning qi and blood, acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine combined, both internal and external treatment, giving consideration to both manifestation and root cause, its experience is worth clinical study and promotion, and with a case, to discuss with like-minded friends.
