Effect of electrical stimulation biofeedback therapy on pelvic floor functional rehabilitation in early postpartum period |

Abstract Objective To explore the clinical value and significance of electrical stimulation biofeedback therapy on pelvic floor functional rehabilitation in early postpartum period. Methods Forty-eight patients with mild pelvic floor dysfunction admitted to the Department of Gynecology of the Third People’s Hospital of Hefei from January 2020 to January 2021 were selected as the study objects. According to the principle of simple randomization, the patients were divided into control group and observation group, with 24 cases in each group. The control group was provided with conventional rehabilitation therapy (Kegel training method), and the observation group was treated with electrical stimulation biofeedback therapy on this basis. The the grade of pelvic floor muscle strength, pelvic floor impact questionnaire-7 (PFIQ-7) score, and incontinence quality of life questionnaire (I-QOL) score were compared between two groups before and after treatment. Results After treatment, the grade of pelvic floor muscle strength in two groups was better than that before treatment, and observation group was better than control group (P<0.01). After treatment, PFIQ-7 scores between two groups were lower than those before treatment, I-QOL scores between two groups were higher than those before treatment, and PFIQ-7 score in observation group was lower than that in control group, I-QOL score was higher than that in control group (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion Electrical stimulation biofeedback therapy has good early effect on postpartum patients with pelvic floor dysfunction and has high clinical application value.
