Influence of plantar motor feedback therapy on walking function in patients with stroke in convalescent period |

Abstract Objective To explore the influence of plantar motor feedback therapy on walking function in patients with stroke in convalescent period. Methods A total of 82 patients with stroke in convalescent period admitted to Changzhou Wujin Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Jiangsu Province from April 2020 to January 2022 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into control group and study group by random number table method, with 41 cases in each group. The control group was treated with repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), and the study group was treated with plantar motor feedback therapy on the basis of the control group. The walking ability of lower limbs, walking balance ability, gait, and heel pressure trail were evaluated and compared between the two groups before treatment and six weeks after treatment. Results After six weeks of treatment, the Holden walking function rating of the two groups was better than that before treatment, and the study group was better than the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After six weeks of treatment, the Berg balance scale score, gait speed, and peak value of heel pressure of affected side in the two groups were higher than those before treatment, and those of the study group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After six weeks of treatment, the heel impulse of the affected side in the two groups was higher than that before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Plantar motor feedback combines with rTMS is helpful to improve the walking ability and gait balance of patients with stroke in the convalescent period.
