Research progress on repair mechanism of electroacupuncture for sciatic nerve injury |

Abstract The treatment of nerve injury has always been one of the difficult problems in clinical practice. Electroacupuncture, as a combination of traditional Chinese medicine and modern medicine, has been widely used in the treatment of sciatic nerve injury, but its mechanism is not fully understood. Therefore, by referring to the literature on the treatment of sciatic nerve injury by electroacupuncture in recent years, this paper introduces the effect of electroacupuncture on pain and motor function after sciatic nerve injury, and summarizes the possible therapeutic mechanism of electroacupuncture from four aspects, promoting Schwann cell proliferation, inhibiting inflammatory response, promoting neurotrophic factor secretion, and inhibiting neuronal apoptosis, and to provide reference and basis for clinical application and basic research.
