Analysis on the risk factors of nosocomial infection in neonatal intensive care unit |

Abstract Objective To explore the risk factors of nosocomial infection in neonatal intensive care unit. Methods A total of 200 neonates were selected from the Department of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Chenzhou First People’s Hospital, Hunan Province from January 2021 to June 2022, they were divided into infected group and non-infected group according to the presence or absence of infection, with 100 cases in each group. The incidence of nosocomial infection was analyzed by single factor and logistic multiple factor. Results There were statistically significant differences in the number of days in hospital, breastfeeding, mechanical ventilation, and risk perception of nursing staff between the two groups (P<0.05); logistic regression analysis showed that mechanical ventilation > 7 days, no breastfeeding, hospital stay > 7 days were independent risk factors for neonatal nosocomial infection (P<0.05). Conclusion Nosocomial infection of neonates in neonatal intensive care unit has many related effects. Through improving the management measures of nursing staff to ensure the early intake of newborn nutrition, the incidence of nosocomial infection of neonates can be reduced while enhancing the risk awareness and concept of nursing staff.
