Application of positive psychological group counseling in nursing teaching of mental disorders |

Abstract Objective To explore the application effect of positive psychological group counseling in nursing teaching of mental disorders. Methods From September to December 2022, a total of 201 three-year junior nursing students from Sichuan Vocational College of Health and Rehabilitation, Grade 2021, were selected as the research objects and divided into 100 students in the experimental group and 101 students in the control group by random number table method. The control group was taught by conventional teaching, and the experimental group was taught by combining conventional teaching with extracurricular positive psychological group counseling. The results of classroom tests, theoretical exams, and comprehensive ability improvement of the two groups were compared. Results There was no significant difference in the scores of comprehensive ability of the control group before and after tutoring (P>0.05). After tutoring, scores of communication interaction, active learning, thinking innovation, teamwork, humanistic care, and comprehensive nursing in experimental group were higher than those before tutoring, while higher than control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The scores of in-class test, mid-term test, and final test of experimental group were higher than those of control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Positive psychological group counseling can significantly improve the comprehensive literacy of nursing students, improve academic performance, and enhance the teaching effect of nursing for mental disorders.
