Risk factors and interventions for maternal anxiety and depression |

Abstract Pregnancy and childbirth are very important physiological stage in a women′s life. Pregnant women have a corresponding psychological stress response during this period. Among them, anxiety and depression are the most common. This is closely related to the physical, social and psychological factors of women during pregnancy and childbirth. Experience anxiety and depression for a long-term can harm maternal physical and mental health, and affect family life, and can lead to increased risk of cesarean section, low birth weight, postpartum lactation, postpartum hemorrhage, and postpartum depression. At present, prenatal health education, psychosomatic intervention and other measures are often used to alleviate maternal anxiety and depression. This article reviews the factors affecting maternal anxiety and depression and intervention methods to provide a basis for clinical treatment of maternal anxiety and depression.
