Abstract Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common chronic liver disease in China and the primary cause of abnormal liver function. There are many risk factors affecting NAFLD, including not only common risk factors such as sex, age, metabolic syndrome, but also rare factors such as sleep disorders, myopathia, etc. With the changes in diet and lifestyle, the prevalence and incidence of NAFLD in China are showing a continuous increase and a trend of younger age. Epidemiological investigation is conducive to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of NAFLD. In recent years, the epidemiological data of NAFLD in China are constantly improved. This article reviews the prevalence of NAFLD and related risk factors in the past 10 years in China.
