Abstract Obesity is a common, adiposity-based chronic disease. Currently, there is a variety of treatments for obesity, yet no single treatment is adequate. Combined methods are aften used. The Newest Meta analysis in 2017 demonstrates that the integrative medicine is one of the effective treatments. However, in clinical practice, integrative medicine treating obesity still has problems due to the lack of systematically quantitative index, standardized diagnosis and treatments. This article makes a collation on treatment guidelines, combining with clinical practice, and summarizes the known approaches of integrative medicine on obesity treatment with in-depth exploration, to provide some well-developed grading stratified treatment norms, and clearly defines various methods of the integrative medicine in obesity classification and stratified treatment. Meanwhile, the intervention time and characteristics of the three integrative medicine methods are clearly expounded, which may provide some new ideas for the treatment of obesity.
