Abstract  Objective To observe the application effect of hierarchical responsibility nursing under CICARE communication model in patients with diabetic retinopathy. Methods A total of 280 patients with diabetic retinopathy admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Military Medical University from December 2020 to December 2021 were selected as the study objects. They were divided into the conventional group and the research group according to the lottery method, with 140 cases in each group. The routine group was given routine nursing, and the research group was given hierarchical responsibility nursing cooperation under CICARE communication mode. Self-efficacy, self-care ability, treatment compliance, glycolipid metabolism, and vision loss were compared between the two groups before intervention and three months after intervention. Results After three months intervention, the self-efficacy and self-care ability of the two groups were higher than those before intervention, and the research group was higher than the conventional group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05); the treatment compliance of the study group was better than that of the conventional group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); the indexes of glucose and lipid metabolism in both groups were lower than those before intervention, and the study group was lower than the conventional group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05); the visual impairment rate of the study group was lower than that of the conventional group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The implementation of stratified responsibility nursing intervention measures based on CICARE communication mode can further enhance the self-efficacy and self-care ability of patients with diabetes retinopathy, and prevent their vision decline.
