| Meta analysis of correlation between repeated abortion and uterine fibroids in Chinese women |

Abstract Objective To evaluate the connection between repeated abortion (≥2 times) and uterine fibroids in Chinese women. Methods CNKI, VIP, Wanfang and PubMed were searched from the establishment to October 25th, 2016 for collecting eligible studies about the relevance of repeated abortion and uterine fibroids, and other relevant articles were also searched by hand. RevMan5.2 software was used to perform meta-analysis after the study selection, extraction and assessment of its quality. The methodological quality of included study was assessed by Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS) quality evaluation criteria. Results Ten case-control studies involving 1780 cases and 1894 controls were finally included. The results of Meta analysis showed that repeated abortion could raise the risk of uterine fibroids compared with control group. Random effect model: OR = 2.23, 95%CI: 1.72-2.88); fixed effect model: OR = 2.46, 95%CI: 2.14-2.82. Conclusion Repeated abortion could increase the risk of uterine fibroids in Chinese women.
