Abstract Objective To explore self-disclosure in patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma undergoing chemotherapy and analyze its association with perceived social support. Methods A total of 116 patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma undergoing chemotherapy in the West China Hospital, Sichuan University from January to December 2021 were selected as the research subjects. Jourard self-disclosure questionnaire (JSDQ) was used to evaluate the patients’ self-disclosure, and the levels of self-disclosure of patients with different characteristics of non-Hodgkin lymphoma undergoing chemotherapy were compared. The perceived social support scale (PSSS) was used to evaluate the perceived social support status, the correlation between self-disclosure level and perceived social support was analyzed. Results JSDQ and PSSS scores of 116 patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma were (106.58±6.39) and (49.25±8.41) points, respectively. Among them, 36 patients had low support status of PSSS, 39 patients had intermediate support status, and 41 patients had high support status. The JSDQ scores of non-Hodgkin lymphoma patients with different perceived social support status were statistically significant (P>0.05). Correlation analysis showed that the level of self-disclosure was positively correlated with perceived social support in patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma chemotherapy (r>0, P<0.05). Conclusion Overall self-disclosure and perceptive social support levels are low in patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma undergoing chemotherapy, and perceptive social support was associated with self-disclosure.
