| Analysis of the influence of self-efficacy intervention on the compliance and satisfaction of cancer patients during PICC catheterization |

Abstract Objective To investigate the effect of self-efficacy intervention on the compliance and satisfaction of cancer patients during Peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) catheterization. Methods A total of 100 patients with cancer PICC catheterization admitted to Jiangning Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University from January 2020 to December 2021 were divided into observation group and control group by using random number table method, with 50 cases in each group. The control group adopted routine nursing, and the observation group adopted self-efficacy intervention mode. After a month of intervention, the total incidence of complications, compliance, nursing satisfaction, and quality of life scale (QLQ-C30) scores before and after intervention were compared between two groups. Results The catheterization compliance of the observation group was better than that of the control group(P＜0.05). The total complication rate of observation group was lower than that of control group(P＜0.05). After intervention, the scores of physical function, role function, cognitive function, emotional function, and social function in two groups were higher than those before intervention, while those of the observation group were higher than those of the control group(P＜0.05). The nursing satisfaction of the observation group was better than that of the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion Self-efficacy intervention mode can reduce complications and improve compliance, quality of life, and nursing satisfaction in patients with tumor PICC catheterization.
