Abstract Occupational therapy is an important part of modern rehabilitation medicine. In addition to focusing on cultivating students’ solid medical theoretical knowledge, it also emphasizes practical application. It is a very practical specialty. In order to enrich the clinical teaching practice mode of occupational therapy, ensure the quality of clinical practice teaching, and cultivate comprehensive occupational therapy technical talents, this paper proposes an innovative clinical teaching plan of “six steps of group therapy”, and applies it to clinical teaching of occupational therapy. Through in-depth research and analysis on the teaching design and implementation of group therapy in clinical teaching of occupational therapy, the positive role of group activity teaching in clinical practice of occupational therapy is discussed, and the systematization and improvement of clinical teaching of group occupational therapy are discussed. Standardized theoretical framework, student-centered, optimized curriculum system, reformed teaching methods, trained qualified and excellent occupational therapists, and provided new ideas and new methods for enriching occupational therapy clinical teaching.
