Improvement and reflection on the teaching mode of standardized training for residents in the department of transfusion medicine |

Abstract Medical technology is becoming increasingly innovative, transfusion medicine is entering a period of rapid development. The rationality and effectiveness of clinical blood use has become an important indicator for the local health administrative departments to assess the medical quality of a hospital. At present, there is no standardized training system for transfusion physicians has been established at the national level. Most hospitals do not have full-time transfusion physicians, nor do they have a unified training program for transfusion physicians. This phenomenon leads to hidden risks in the safe management of patients’ blood transfusion, and fails to guarantee the synchronous development of transfusion medicine and other clinical disciplines. In view of the current deficiencies in transfusion medicine education, this study is conducted to improve the training program of transfusion medicine residents in Beijing Air Force Characteristic Medical Center in several aspects, including the preparation of the Teaching Plan for Standardized Training of Transfusion Medicine Residents, the implementation of diversified teaching, and the improvement of the assessment method of discharge, based on the research of the current situation of teaching and training of transfusion medicine at home and abroad. To explore a new model of standardized training for transfusion physicians and improve the quality of current resident transfusion specialty training. This study also analyze and reflect on the future development of transfusion medicine and standardized training of transfusion physicians.
