Abstract The aging society inevitably increases the incidence of osteoporotic fractures (OPF). OPF with a high risk of secondary fractures and cost of treatment, which seriously threatens the life and property safety of the elderly. However, the number of patients with timely diagnosis of osteoporosis and standardized treatment is still minority. Fracture liaison service (FLS) is an osteoporotic fracture management model advocated and promoted in worldwide by the International Osteoporosis Foundation, which expected to improve the rate of diagnosis, treatment initiation and OPF patients, treatment compliance. It is still in its infancy in China, there are few related studies. But FLS as a high-intensity OPF management model, the high cost may be as an obstacle to the implementation of FLS. The cost-effectiveness of FLS has been extensively studied abroad. This article reviews the application status and cost-effectiveness of FLS in management of osteoporotic fractures aim to provides a reference for the development and promotion of FLS in China.
