Abstract Small incision thyroid surgery has become the mainstream of thyroid surgery in China′s first-class hospital at Grade 3 because of its obvious advantages such as safety, minimal invasiveness, cosmetic use, and low medical costs. In this study, the use of thyroid automatic retractor, combined with arched retractor to complete the retraction of the upper and lower flaps of the small incision thyroidectomy and the exposure of the surgical field, so that the surgical procedure of cutting and exposing is more simple, convenient, fast, minimally invasive, and safe. It has achieved good clinical results through clinical application in a number of county-level primary hospitals in China, and is expected to be promoted and used in a wider range of primary hospitals.
