Medication rules of traditional Chinese medicine fumigation in the treatment of dry eye based on data mining |

Abstract Objective To analyze medication rules of traditional Chinese medicine fumigation in the treatment of dry eye based on data mining. Methods A combination of computer and manual search was used to screen the literature on traditional Chinese medicine fumigation in the treatment of dry eyes from January 2004 to January 2022 in CNKI, VIP and Wanfang databases, and the prescriptions were entered into Excel tables and then imported into the Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support System (V2.5). Association rules, hierarchical clustering and other algorithms were adopted to conduct data mining from multiple dimensions such as drug frequency, four qi, five flavors of traditional Chinese medicine, meridian tropism, core drug combination and potential new formula combination. Results One hundred and twelve prescriptions contained 98 traditional Chinese medicines, most of which were cold, warm, and cold. Sweet, bitter, and pungent drugs were commonly used, and the channel tropism was mainly liver, lung, heart, stomach, and kidney channels. The top three Chinese medicines used were Chrysanthemi Flos, Menthae Haplocalycis Herba, Ophiopogonis Radix. Nineteen drug combinations were obtained. Phellodendri Chinensis Cortex and Menthae Haplocalycis Herba had the highest correlation. Nineteen groups of potential couplet medicines and six groups of core drug combinations were excavated, and three new drug combinations were obtained. Conclusion Traditional Chinese medicine fumigation in the treatment of dry eyes places equal emphasis on dispelling evil and supporting righteousness, mainly from the two perspectives of external wind heat and internal liver blood injury, on the basis of dispersing wind heat and nourishing liver yin, as well as promoting blood circulation, resolving stasis and drying dampness.
