Abstract Post-stroke depression is a special form of depression, which can seriously affect the recovery of neurological function and the ability to return to society. Professor Fu Weimin believes that the pathogenesis is the imbalance of viscera and qi movement, the endogenous phlegm and blood stasis, and the dysfunction of brain and internal organs. Based on the Chinese medicine theory of “six fu-organs function well when unobstructed”, Professor Fu proposes to use the method of dredging the fu organs as the treatment, clinical syndrome differentiation is often accurate according to different stages of the disease. Different “dredging” methods, such as dredging the fu organs and lowering qi, purging the heart and dredging the fu organs, resolving phlegm and ventilating, promoting blood circulation and dredging the fu organs, and reviving the brain and dredging the fu organs are adopted, with remarkable clinical effects.
