Abstract  Objective To investigate the current state of perceived professional benefits of intravenous therapy nurses and to analyze its influencing factors. Methods From August to September 2021, a total of 231 nurses from Nanjing First Hospital, Nanjing Medical University, were selected for the study, and the nurses’ perception of occupational benefit was assessed using the nurses’ perception of occupational benefit questionnaire, and the nurses’ baseline information was investigated to analyze the relevant factors that may affect the perception of occupational benefit of nurses in intravenous therapy. Results The results of the nurses’ sense of professional benefit questionnaire showed that 231 nurses had a sense of professional benefit score of (118.74±12.03) points. The differences were statistically significant when comparing the scores of nurses’ sense of professional benefit across monthly income, employment method, involvement in research, and hours worked per week (P<0.05). The equation was obtained by multiple linear regression analysis: Y=138.714-7.075×monthly income 3 000 to 5 000 yuan-17.697×monthly income>5 000 yuan-4.602×formal establishment-2.991×participation in scientific research-1.501×weekly working hours 40 to 44 h+9.271×weekly working hours>44 h. The results showed that monthly income of 3 000 to 5 000 yuan, monthly income>5 000 yuan, formal establishment, and participation in research were protective factors for the perceived occupational benefit score of intravenous therapy specialist nurses (P<0.05), while weekly working hours>44 h were risk factors for the perceived occupational benefit score of intravenous therapy specialist nurses (P<0.05). Conclusion Monthly income of 3 000 to 5 000 yuan, monthly income>5 000 yuan, formal establishment, and participation in research are protective factors for the perceived occupational benefit score of intravenous therapy specialist nurses, and weekly working hours>44 h are risk factors for the perceived occupational benefit score of intravenous therapy specialist nurses.
