Abstract In recent years, with the incidence of spinal degenerative diseases increasing year by year and the constant innovation of lumbar spinal fusion, the three-dimensional finite element method is becoming more and more mature. This article concludes that the application of finite element method in lumbar spinal fusion in recent 10 years and explains in detail the development history of transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF), the introduction for constructing finite element models of spine and the application of finite element analysis of TLIF and instrumentation system.
