Expression of MMP2, IGF2BP2, and HMGA2 in invasive placental tissue |

Abstract Objective To investigate the expressions of matrix metalloproteinase 2 (MMP2), insulin-like growth factor 2 mRNA-binding protein 2 (IGF2BP2), and high mobility group box A2 (HMGA2) in invasive placental tissue. Methods From March to December 2021, 23 pregnant women diagnosed with invasive placenta in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University were selected as invasive placenta group, and 29 pregnant women with normal pregnancy in the same period were selected as control group. Western blot and real-time PCR were used to detect the expressions of MMP2, IGF2BP2, and HMGA2 in placental tissues of the two groups. Results The protein and mRNA expression levels of MMP2, IGF2BP2, and HMGA2 in invasive placenta group were higher than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion The elevated expression of MMP2, IGF2BP2, and HMGA2 in placental tissue may be related to the occurrence of invasive placental tissue.
