Efficacy of sequential therapy of Butylphthalide combined with dual antiplatelet therapy in patients with acute cerebral infarction complicated with atherosclerosis and its effects on neurological function, serum Hcy and hs-CRP levels |

Abstract Objective To investigate the effect of sequential therapy of Butylphthalide combined with dual antiplatelet therapy on patients with acute cerebral infarction (ACI) complicated with atherosclerosis (AS) and its effects on neurological function, serum homocysteine (Hcy), and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein ( hs-CRP) levels. Methods A total of 82 patients with ACI complicated with AS who were treated in Huaibei Miners General Hospital of Anhui Province from July 2019 to June 2021 were selected as the research objects, and they were divided into the control group (odd number) and the study group (even number) according to the odd and even number method, with 41 in each group. The patients in the control group received routine and dual antiplatelet intervention, and the patients in the study group received sequential therapy intervention of Butylphthalide based on the control group. After 90 days of treatment, the clinical efficacy, Hcy, hs-CRP levels, and NIHSS score were compared between the two groups. Results The clinical effect of the study group was better than the control group (P < 0.05). Before treatment, there were no significant differences in NIHSS score, Hcy, and hs-CRP levels between the two groups (P > 0.05); after treatment, the levels of Hcy, hs-CRP, and NIHSS in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and those in the study group were lower than the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Butylphthalide sequential therapy combined with dual antiplatelet therapy in the treatment of ACI complicated with AS can significantly improve the curative effect, improve neurological function, and also effectively reduce serum Hcy and hs-CRP levels.
